In rural Ireland, Cáit, a shy and neglected nine-year-old is sent to stay for the summer with distant relatives when her mother is expecting a baby. At first, Cáit is bewildered by life in a big empty house with her mother’s cousin and her taciturn farmer husband but the kindness and nurturing they offer wins her over as she learns how it feels to be loved. Set in 1980s County Waterford this is a beautiful and moving film. In Irish with English subtitles.
